Definition the category of equipment, operating under pressure

When choosing a form of conformity assessment of equipment, operating under pressure, the requirements of TR CU 032/2013, it is necessary to determine the category of equipment hazard, which in turn depends out of the parameters (temperature, pressure), properties, characteristics of the work environment and its aggregate state, as well as technical specifications of equipment (volume capacity of vessels and boilers, the nominal diameter of the pipe and fittings).

When communicating with the applicants, the manufacturers, authorized representatives of manufacturers, experts of certification bodies, test laboratories it becomes clear that problem correct definition of the category hazard exists practically at all people since the introduction of TR CU 032/2013.

This problem is also observed at the analysis of of certificates and declarations of conformity, posted on the Internet for public access.

The calculation program TR CU 032/2013, posted on the official website of Rostekhnadzor and based on tables of annexes to the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union «On the safety equipment of high pressure»(TR CU 032/2013), has greatly facilitated the task for all market participants. But the downside of this product is the need to connect to the Internet and one more thing, about which we'll tell a later...

In our opinion a graphical representation of categorizing equipment, implemented in the European Directive 97/23 / EC (PED) is more clearly. To facilitate the determination of categories of equipment on PED aredeveloped many calculators (e.g. http://www.eucertification.com/ce-certification-2/ped/pressure-vessel-calculatoror mobile application for your phone. On the Internet you can find other calculators, representing the classification of an object on the diagram PED.

It should be noted that this graphical representation of the requirements TR CU 032/2013 to categories allowed to reveal some issuesto developers. It is well known that the European directive 97/23 / EC (PED) was taken as the basis during the development of TR CU 032/2013. At first sight the differences regarding the categorization of equipment in these two documents is no: in TR CU 032/2013 requirements for certain types of equipment are presented in the form of functions with several conditions, and in the PED requirements are presented in the form of charts: category is defined by coordinates (volume capacity, diameter pressure). In fact - it's the same thing. However, we were revealed in TR CU 032/2013 some "anomalies", which, according to our information, no one has ever said or discussed. These "anomalies" - differences between the TR CU 032/2013 and the PED are presented in the table below:

Technical Regulations TR CU 032/2013

The European Directive 97/23/ЕС (PED)
